Drive to Fujeira

Before summer hits the UAE, the Committee would like you to join us for the first drive of 2009. The event is a fantastic drive on Friday, March 13, 2009. Please read the following E-mail for full details.

We're off to Fujairah and will be using a route which is an old favorite of the club and its members but with a twist. We will head out from Dome Café towards the desert and onto some of the finest mountain roads the Emirates has to offer which will ultimately take us to the East Coast of the UAE, driving past Hatta through a mountain tunnel high up in the Hajjar Mountains, finally arriving to the other side of the country in the city of Fujairah. We shall see some spectacular desert landscape and mountains along the way. However, it will be hard to keep your eyes on the scenery with the sight of the Porsche convoy in your rearview mirror.

Our destination on the East Coast is the Fujairah Hilton Beach Resort. This friendly and relaxed resort has hosted the Porsche Club – UAE over the years and is situated right beside the deep Indian Ocean. Upon arrival at this venue, we will indulge in a superb buffet lunch. We will then take a break to spend some time to relax by the swimming pool or sit on the beach. So bring your swim suits if you want to take a dip in the pool or the Indian Ocean. Towels will be provided by the Hotel.

At 4 pm we will leave Fujairah and return through the mountains to Dubai where we will stop at a venue to enjoy a cool sundowner drink.
